Fly Fishing
Fly Fishing is an alto (high) relief medallion capturing a moment of mutual, affectionate grooming between two horses. I wanted to show a relaxed but interesting scene involving interaction without drama. Raising the relief allowed me much more creativity and the chance to push my casting skills to a new level.
The medallion measures a touch over 3" across and almost 1.5" deep.
Fly Fishing is an Open Edition model and is still available to order, however I plan to retire the model once the current mould is spent. This medallion works particularly well with the cold-cast metals, as this heat-treated Bronze copy illustrates nicely.
